In a new interview for the Cosmopolitan series Cheap Shots, Maren Morris refused to take back her viral tweet referring to Brittany Aldean as “Insurrection Barbie.” The drinking-game style interview gave Morris the opportunity to avoid taking shots of liquor by instead responding to personal questions honestly. One of those inquiries was regarding if the country star ever regretted anything she has posted on social media in the past.

“I don’t really have any tweets that I’ve regretted,” Morris responded. “I will say I didn’t think my ‘Insurrection Barbie’ tweet to a certain someone would have picked up so much momentum, but I stand by it.” That certain someone is lifestyle influencer Brittany, the wife of country star Jason Aldean. Two years ago, her and Morris got into a heated exchange on Twitter after Brittany spread misinformation about gender-affirming healthcare. Morris vehemently responded, “It’s so easy to, like, not be a scumbag human? Sell your clip-ins and zip it, Insurrection Barbie.” (Billboard)
